Flight path
John just sent me a suggestion to make some amendments to my Flight Path – seems I am having trouble on the runway (flat tire?) let alone the actual flight.
Right now I do feel quite general in my flight path only because I know where I want to go: creating and teaching my own courses online from anywhere in the world.
Etec 565 is my second MET course and I do appreciate the opportunity to develop social connectivity with both the class and our instructors. Already, the camaraderie builds to create amazing professional and personal networks. Developing LMS skills and integrating the social technology (wikis, wimba, skype) and assessment into the courses will help me create better and more ‘connected’ courses for students.
Personally, I feel I have a great deal of confidence with the NETS skills already as I do tend to pick up new techs readily. I can apply most of them individually, but I need to better develop flow and consistency with more tech in my courses. Also, as a side trip -I would like to develop greater leadership to inspire others to explore and use these standards to support and better their teaching.
I think for myself, I plan on flying a path that leads me to explore newer more efficient applications and ideas for implementing and assessing student learning on a consistent basis in a socially connected environment. Moodle has definitely caught my eye, but so has WordPress and its simple application to the classroom. Ultimately, I would like to see myself able to design and implement an online course that connects students from around the globe and – I could teach, have fun online journeys with my students and get paid!
