Musical Stairs

YouTube Preview Image

I came across this video on YouTube and thought it was very similar to what Tamar Milne was talking about in class today. Some individuals observed the stairs and escalator at a subway station and how most individuals prefer to take the escalator. They decided to make the stairs more fun to use by making them into a piano and before you know it most individuals were taking the stairs instead of the escalator. This ties into our the primary research method of observation and a few individuals observed the stairs and kept track of traffic counts. They tested out their piano stairs experiment and realized that if something is fun to do it’s worth doing. I feel this is a great idea that making something fun or of value to you will make you change your normal activities. It gets me thinking of how I can think of a creative idea for my primary research part of project.

The iPod Touch is amazing

Of course everyone knows what this is a picture of, its hard not sit in a bus and see the person beside you listening to music on it or playing video games on it. The Apple Ipod Touch is one of the most advanced handheld technologies. It can contain up to 64 GB and also play music, watch movies, play games, record videos and more. One of my favourite features of the new Ipod Touch is Facetime, which is the ability to have conversation with another Ipod Touch user while viewing them on your Ipod Touch so it’s kind of like having a conversation over a webcam. What amazes the most is how much of a change the new Ipod’s are than the first ones (picture below). They don’t look anything alike and the first one was introduced in 2001. Adding the touch screen and the slim figure, the iPod Touch has become a new species relative to the first iPod. Apple is doing well with keeping up with trends and even creating them. This creates a huge competitive advantage over other competitors as there is no other product that can compare with the iPod. Apple is always creating new products and better versions of the old ones so customers always have a reason to come. The iPod has a great worldwide reputation.

Lifting the vodka bottle is the only workout you need

Throw away your protein supplements and head to the liquor store, “Jersey Shore’s” Mike “the Situation” is endorsing the new type of vodka called Devotion. It contains casein which adds protein to the vodka and you can gain up to 10 grams of protein by drinking it. Being one of the first of its kind, it creates a competitive advantage over other vodka companies as it creates value to the average gym goer who now can worry less about losing their muscle and enjoy drinking.
