Dhari has been program coordinator for \u00a0a research project initiated by the Indo-Canadian Women&#8217;s Organization. The goal of the project is to promote health care for new immigrant Indo-Canadian women who are pregnant for the first time in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>She has also served as a facilitator for the highly-successful &#8220;pops and tots&#8221; program at the West Main Health Unit, which brought together groups of 8 to 14 new fathers and their kids.<\/p>\n<p>Her volunteer work included her participation on the Canadian Cancer Society&#8217;s Indo-Canadian advisory committee for over three years. There, she played a key role in the committee&#8217;s work to promote and deliver three breast self-examination teaching clinics for Indo-Canadian women.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=flTbGIJ1o6U\"><strong>2016 Excellence and Innovation Canadian Network for Innovation in Education (CNIE) Award, UBC School of Nursing Flexible Learning Initiative Project, Team Member<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bcpsqc.ca\/quality-awards\/2017-quality-awards\/quality-culture-trailblazer\/quality-culture-trailblazer-runner-up\/\"><strong>2017 BC Quality Culture Trailblazer Award runner up \u2013 The ICAN- UGM Foot soak project\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1995\u00a0RNABC Award of Excellence in Nursing Practice Ranjit Dhari, a community health nurse in Vancouver Health Department, received the RNABC&#8217;s Award of Excellence in Nursing Practice.
