The context for this assignment design can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/rankang\/assignment-2-develop-an-online-media-assignment-context\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Assignment 2: Asynchronous Presentation on Consequentialism<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Introduction<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This assignment aims to demonstrate your understanding of the four types of consequentialism and their application to real-world examples through your presentation. You will create presentation slides using multimedia elements of your choice to support your presentation, then record yourself delivering a 5-7\u2014minute presentation. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This assignment offers you an opportunity for you to explain each consequentialist perspective in your own words and apply them to your own context.&nbsp;Through this process, you will deenpen your understanding of each consequentialist perspective and reflect on and analyze your own decision- making process. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Instructions<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This assignment consists of three parts. Read the instructions carefully and follow each step to complete your work. Please note only Part 3 needs to be submitted, but you must complete Part 1 and 2 first, as they prepare you for Part 3. All three parts contribute to your final evaluation. For specific grading criteria, refer to the rubric below.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Part 1 \u2013 Slide Creation&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Part 1, you will create presentation slides covering the following topics:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Title page: <\/strong>Include the course name, assignment title, and your name.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Topic 1: Understanding Consequentialism&nbsp;<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;Explain, in your own words, each of four types of consequentialism \u2013 Utilitarianism, Egoism, Altruism, Hedonism.\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Topic 2: Organizational Example&nbsp;<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Identify an organization that demonstrates one of the types of consequentialism of your choice.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;Provide a brief introduction to the organization by addressing details, such as who, what, where, when, and why.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Explain why you believe this organization represents the chosen type of consequentialism.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Topic 3: Personal Decision-Making&nbsp;<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Describe a significant decision you have made in your life.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Explain the rationale behind your decision.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apply one of the consequentialism perspectives to describe your decision-making process.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tools:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You may use Microsoft PowerPoint, <a href=\"https:\/\/workspace.google.com\/intl\/en_ca\/products\/slides\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Google Slides<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canva.com\/presentations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Canva<\/a>, or any other tool you are comfortable with.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Slide Length:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is no required number of slides for each topic. However, ensure that your slides effectively support your 5\u20137-minute presentation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Multimedia Elements:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Feel free to enhance your slides with multimedia elements such as images, music, video clips, or other visual and audio content to enrich your presentation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Part 2 \u2013 Presentation<\/strong> <strong><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Using the slides you have created in Part 1, record yourself delivering a 5-7-minute presentation.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tools:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Feel free to use any presentation recording tool you are comfortable with. The presentation slides are just an aid for your presentation. Never read the text on the slides word for word.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Be sure to include both the presenter (you) and the slides in your recording. Attach the presentation slides as a file in your post, and upload the recorded presentation as the main content.
