Disney’s Magic Bracelet

Posted by in Uncategorized

DisneyWorld is known for its fantasy brought to reality and childhood memories, but there are drastic business decisions being made behind the scenes as well. Disney Parks have created a new technology that will enhance the experience of their customers, but will also rake in more money from their customers from the duration of their customers’ stay. This new technology is a program called MyMagic+. This system consists of wristbands that are created to overthrow credit-card use in the theme park, as credit card information is inserted within the bracelet. Therefore, with a scan of the wrist, a payment would be made- thus demolishing the hassle of credit cards or risk of loss of credit cards.

Additionally, this new system tracks their consumers’ behaviour within minutes, gaining knowledge of each balloon, Mickey ears, or ride one has purchased/been on automatically. This new knowledge allows the system to offer customized marketing messages to smartphones, such as when there is a short line for a desired ride. If wished for, Cinderella or any other character would be able to wish a child a happy birthday without any verbal cue, with the help of the system. Enriching the experience at Disney Parks equals happy customers, and according to Disney Parks, happy customers equals more money spent.
