Waves Coffee House: Vancouver’s Prized Jewel

Posted by in Uncategorized

In an area where busyness never rests, coffee is a foundation for everyday life. But what makes Waves Coffee House so unique from the other coffee chains that appear on every block in the city?

Kami Rhamati, founder of Waves Coffee, strove for a coffee house unique from the rest. His business strategy was simple: connectivity. His desire was to break the status-quo of a café, enlarging the size of the coffee house to 1,400 square feet, allowing more people to lounge, study, work, and meet. Additionally, Waves was one of the first to input free wifi within coffee houses. This unlocked further “connectivity,” as the specific locations of each branch focused on a specific market such as seniors, students, businesspeople, and even soccer moms. Waves is a all about connecting, calling itself a “home away from home.”

Waves Coffee House also added conference rooms in some of its various locations, free of charge as long as purchases are made during the meeting. This strategy creates a brand new outlook on cafés, bringing people together in new ways. Not only is the coffee house focused on connectivity, but the way franchisers do business is based off of the same principle. New franchises are made based on connections, face to face deals, and even friendships. Here, everything is personal- the flavour of our west coast.
