Throughout the first three labs of this course, many concepts were introduced and utilized to complete the tasks at hand. In lab one I gained a fundamental understanding of ArcGIS by being introduced to basic actions. Adding files to the table of contents, viewing data tables, and linking folders for data input were key concepts. In lab two I used remotely sensed data to build a before and after model of damage caused by the Mount St. Helens eruption. Finally, in lab 3 I utilized the ArcToolbox to create a map denoting areas of Vancouver at risk of a tsunami from spatial and tabular datasets. These first three labs began building my skill using ArcGIS from the bottom up. Each lab built on the last and I went from not knowing how to create a geodatabase, to being able to map many datasets on one map and effectively analyze it.
