Peek at the week: Sept 24th-28th

Hello All,

Lots of great info coming your way so have your calendars ready!

Div. 20 had a great week and routines and expectations are beginning to set in. There is a lot to take in and things to get used to and I am so proud of the children.

Agendas will regularly be going home, please make sure to check for information and notices and sign them!

Goal Setting Conference: I have done my best to accommodate everyone’s first choice for Goal Setting Conference times. Your time will be communicated to you by the end of the week.

Since we seem to have gone right from Summer to Winter please support your child in bring a rain jacket and a change of clothes and shoes to school so they are able to enjoy some fresh air during recess and lunch.

School Counsellor: We have a temporary school counsellor, Ronnie Ross. We will be doing some lessons together. More info to come!

Looking at the week ahead:

Monday: Computers

Buddies: This year I have decided to pair up with a buddy class. The students are in  Div. 16, a grade 6/7 Montessori class, and we will collaborate bi-weekly. My intention for this is for us to build classroom community and for the students to have an in-school role model.  The children will be meeting Div. 16 on Monday.

Bake Sale:   Our class and our buddy class has decided to host  a “healthy snack sale” to raise money for the Terry Fox  Foundation. An email will be sent out on Monday with more information regarding the sale on Friday.

Tuesday: Gym and Music *Runners and Water Bottles

Wednesday: Gym *Runners and Water Bottles

Thursday:  Library Book Exchange, all children should have taken two books home each last week.

Friday:  Terry Fox Run at 9am, please dress for the weather, we all will be walking or running. T-shirts will be on sale all week before school.

I have stickers for all the children to wear on their shirts with a place to add  someone’s name. If your child is running for someone who is battling cancer or who has passed away from cancer please let me know and I will make sure that name gets written down on their sticker.

Ways to be involved this week:

We start most mornings with Tai Chi.  Please feel free to join us. You are also always welcome at our school-wide assemblies on Friday first thing in the morning.

Friday, September 28th at 9am is the Terry Fox Run and our classes fundraiser “Healthy Bake Sale”.

Coming up:
