Uber, a globally recognized and an internationally developed brand is the epicenter of the blog, ‘The Popular Uber’ by Jessica Wang. It talks about the growing trends in using Uber as a mode of transportation rather than using “traditional taxis”.[i] The blog talks about how Canada is a market segment that has not been touched upon by Uber. It correctly identifies the growing trends of the young generation or the geographical customer segments in the western hemisphere are adopting a greater use of technology.  It also condenses the information regarding the growing use of mobile apps by the population that may have caused the demand od services like Uber to increase. The popularity of Uber has seemed to grow due to the various convenient services that it offers. As a customer, Uber would be visited due to the cheap rates that they offer along with the convenient services in terms modes of payments along with having safe services and fast rides when the journey needs to take place immediately.

Considering the decision to expand into the Canadian market, Jessica, could have explored the topic in further details by including other analytical tools and comprehensive tools such as the SWOT analysis or the BMC model segments. As doing the SWOT would have allowed a deep insight into the decision of expanding into Canada. As it would have given a response upon the key factors od the advantages and disadvantages of the decision. Also it would have helped in coming to a concise judgment on the expansion. Using the BMC would have aided Jessica in considering the effects on different stakeholders, such as considering the market segments and the financial statistics on expanding into Canada. A deeper understanding and evaluation would have made it much more interesting apprehend the blog and it would enrich it with a deeper meaning. Such as seeing if Uber is actually getting popular for all the right reasons[ii]. Explaining why is it likely to fail and what would be the impact of the long term and the short term consequences. Furthermore, the blog was enriched with ideas on how Uber is actually popular among the generation that most uses it and why. Along with personal insight into the matter.

Moreover, it is a very good topic to talk about as there are many aspects that can be explored in this topic. It is also an engaging topic to converse on as it is relatable to many as the community is familiar with Uber and its services.
