Emotions and e-Learning

My interest in researching emotions and learning stems from reflecting on my seventeen years of teaching adults experience where I have observed the influence on emotions and feelings on the learners’ performance.

The impact of emotions on teaching and learning has been debated from centuries. In western philosophy, Plato (428-348 BC) has affirmed that all learning has an emotional based (Santillan, 2009). However, glimpsing historical data, scientific interest underwent something of renaissance in the 1990’s (Evans, 2001). In the twenty-first century an emotion revolution has emerged in response to the cognitive revolution of the 50’s. (Damasio, 2009).

The influence of emotions on Learning still under – emphasized, but there is a growing body of literature that has begun to espouse the role of emotions to any learning endeavor, especially in online learning.

Emotional intelligence derives from the complexity of emotions, and it  means that I one regulates  feelings such as reduce anger or anxiety to understand the causes.  I did  a research on  Emotional Intelligence and the Acquisition of a Second Language
