About Me

My name is Rodrigo Samayoa and I am a web developer and digital campaigner. I have experience using and building digital tools like CRMs, e-blasts, SMS, web apps, and social media to reach and organize communities working towards progressive social change.

I have worked with multiple non-profits and labour unions, including Leadnow, the BCGEU and OpenMedia on a range of different issues. Throughout my time with these organizations, I had the opportunity to work on issues I deeply care about, like climate change, housing rights and digital rights.

My work in digital campaigns eventually led me to develop an interest for coding and the magic that surrounds it. That’s why I entered the UBC Bachelor of Computer Science program. I aim to combine my previous digital campaigns experience with my new coding wizardry to build next-generation tools for progressive social change.

When I am not working, I love to spend time outdoors, exploring BC’s vast wilderness and getting as far away as I can from computer screens.
