I have a strong commitment to open access publishing\u2014the practice of providing unrestricted access via the Internet to peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles\u2014and I currently co-edit three open access journals: <a href=\"https:\/\/ices.library.ubc.ca\/index.php\/criticaled\/\"><em>Critical Education<\/em><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/ices.library.ubc.ca\/index.php\/workplace\"><em>Workplace: A Journal for Academic Labor<\/em><\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/ojs.library.ubc.ca\/index.php\/clogic\/index\"><em>Cultural Logic<\/em><\/a>. Previously I served as editor of <em>Theory and Research in Social Education<\/em> (1996-2001) and <em>The Social Science Record<\/em> (1990-1993).<\/p>\n<p>I have served on numerous editorial boards including: Constructing Knowledge: Curriculum Studies in Action (Sense Publishers Book Series, 2012), <em>Canadian Social Studies<\/em> (Executive Editor, 2008-), <em>Educational Studies<\/em> (2005-2011), <em>International Journal of Social Education<\/em> (1993-2009), <em>International Journal of Whole Schooling<\/em> (2004-), <em>Journal for Critical Education Policy Studies<\/em> (2003-), <em>Journal of Social Studies Research<\/em> (1993-2008), and <em>Theory and Research in Social Education<\/em> (1991-1995).<\/p>\n<p>From 1988-1994 I was a member of the State University of New York Press Editorial Board and I was Chair of theEditorial Board from 1991-94.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Throughout my career I have been heavily involved in various aspects of scholarly publishing.
