{"id":6232,"date":"2024-07-07T12:27:12","date_gmt":"2024-07-07T20:27:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/ross\/?p=6232"},"modified":"2024-07-07T12:32:06","modified_gmt":"2024-07-07T20:32:06","slug":"video-interview-desafios-e-possibilidades-para-a-educacao-historica-em-um-mundo-neoliberal-challenges-and-possibilities-for-history-education-in-a-neoliberal-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/ross\/2024\/07\/video-interview-desafios-e-possibilidades-para-a-educacao-historica-em-um-mundo-neoliberal-challenges-and-possibilities-for-history-education-in-a-neoliberal-world\/","title":{"rendered":"Video Interview: &#8220;Desafios e possibilidades para a educa\u00e7\u00e3o hist\u00f3rica em um mundo neoliberal&#8221; \/ &#8220;Challenges and possibilities for history education in a neoliberal world&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In November 2022, I had the honour giving the keynote address at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.enpeh2022.abeh.org.br\/site\/capa\">National Meeting of Researchers in History Teaching<\/a> (XIII Encontro Nacional de Pesquisadores do Ensino de Hist\u00f3ria \u2013 XIII-ENPEH) organized by the Brazilian Association of History Teaching (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.abeh.org.br\/site\/capa\">Associa\u00e7\u00e3o de Ensino de Hist\u00f3ria &#8211; ABEH<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, the talk \u2014 &#8220;Desafios e possibilidades para a educa\u00e7\u00e3o hist\u00f3rica em um mundo neoliberal&#8221; \/ &#8220;Challenges and possibilities for historical education in a neoliberal world&#8221; \u2014 was published as a chapter in the book <em><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/14liWf-m_2Z4GvjfV4EpR3HSwZiu2KF9i\/view?pli=1\">Os presentes do Ensino de Hist\u00f3ria: (re)constru\u00e7\u00f5es em novas bases <\/a>\u00a0\/ The gifts of History Teaching: (re)constructions on new bases, <\/em>\u00a0edited by Luis Cerri (State University of Ponta Grossa) and Juliana Alves Andrade (Federal University of Pernambuco).<\/p>\n<p>Below is a a link to a video interview that was conducted last month with my Brazilian colleagues including professors Cerri and Andrade and the president of ABEH, Prof. Maria Lima (Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul).
