Writing a complaint business letter with the purpose of making the audience feel like the most important person in the correspondence helped to emphasize the importance of tone within professional writing.

Clear instructions were helpful in understanding the situation from the reader’s point of view. Learning how to ask the reader to do something for us while also making them feel happy is a skill that is essential for professional communication.

The purpose of this assignment was to examine the formal report of a Wise Words peer for writing techniques and strategies while analyzing the material for specific highlights and weaknesses. Feedback and suggestions should be positive, critical, and constructive for helpful editing advice.

Completion of the peer review highlighted the importance of details according to a specific audience, and concise and direct writing within my own report. Knowing that my work would directly influence one of my peers ensured that each comment was both constructive and positive, such that the tone was appropriate throughout the review.
