Expectations

In the current world of technology, most job applications and communication methods have become strictly online. Therefore, I need to be well qualified and aware of the different technical skills that professionals use on a daily basis. In this course, I hope to:

  1. Gain experience in writing professional e-mails and memos to professors and supervisors.
  2. Develop my social networking skills by creating a LinkedIn Profile and Web Folio for employers to view.
  3. Improve my technical writing skills for writing reports and applications.

The skills and techniques that I attain from this course will prepare me for the professional world. In the future, I see myself writing and editing scientific reports, providing updates to supervisors, and interacting with colleagues and professionals both abroad and locally. I greatly value the experience and knowledge acquired from my teammates and Dr. Paterson in ENGL 301.
