I prepared an application package for a summer research assistant position at the Michael Smiths Laboratories located at UBC. I’m interested in Dr. Piret’s lab position because I want to gain more research lab experience and integrate actual research experience with my future co-op search for bioinformatics jobs. In addition, I have experience with the majority of lab techniques mentioned from my previous biology degree such as microscopy, preparing solutions, and research. I’ve also volunteered at ICORD, a research spinal care clinic, whereby I had experience translating some of the research papers into layman terms for the blog.

The application package prepared will include:

• Cover Letter directed to the HR Manager at Michael Smiths Laboratories
• Searchable Resume with traditional resume PDF file
• Three Letters Requesting References in a PDF file
