She seemed to genuinely enjoy this activity. Kress&#8217; belief that we are moving into an era where images will transcend the written word made this task seem more a peak into the future rather than just a fun task.(Kress, 2005)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-326\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/ryandoreyinetec540\/files\/2020\/08\/Screen-Shot-2020-08-10-at-10.29.28-AM-300x141.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"141\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/ryandoreyinetec540\/files\/2020\/08\/Screen-Shot-2020-08-10-at-10.29.28-AM-300x141.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/ryandoreyinetec540\/files\/2020\/08\/Screen-Shot-2020-08-10-at-10.29.28-AM.png 766w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">By putting \u00a0<b><i>Little Fires Everywhere<\/i><\/b> I knew immediately what the book was.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">The book starts and ends with this image of a house on fire.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-327 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/ryandoreyinetec540\/files\/2020\/08\/Screen-Shot-2020-08-10-at-10.31.33-AM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"116\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">It is always exciting to see a simple image and be able <\/span>to translate it into something larger like the plat of a book or movie.<\/p>\n<p>Rebecca did a great job conveying her ideas clearly through a simple set of images.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">One similarity that our tasks shared was that we used emoji as thoughts instead of complete sentences or ideas. I created small moments from Scott Pilgrim that repeated throughout the plot so the emoji\u2019s could stay the same.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Rebecca created flashbacks in her<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>plot because this is how the plot of the book is laid out. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">A final similarity was the device: Rebecca used an online keyboard for MacBook in the form of a screenshot.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This is exactly what I did to create my final product. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">I enjoyed the simple design Rebecca chose to create her blog. Booklite, is easy to navigate and her structure of links at the top of the page made it easy to navigate.
