{"id":106,"date":"2012-11-19T05:44:35","date_gmt":"2012-11-19T12:44:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/ryanun\/?p=106"},"modified":"2012-11-19T05:59:17","modified_gmt":"2012-11-19T12:59:17","slug":"blackberry10-paradigm-shift","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/ryanun\/2012\/11\/19\/blackberry10-paradigm-shift\/","title":{"rendered":"BlackBerry 10 &#8211; Paradigm Shift"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a recent interview with\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Canadian Business<\/strong><\/span><strong><\/strong> magazine, BlackBerry RIM&#8217;s Chief Marketing Officer, Frank Boulben, gave some bold insights on the ever-changing mobile device industry, and where the upcoming BlackBerry 10 (BB10) will stand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"BlackBerry 10\" src=\"http:\/\/rimdevblog.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/bb10_devalpha2.png?w=154&amp;h=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"154\" height=\"298\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to Boulben, the past five years in the mobile industry have been &#8220;the introduction of a new paradigm (smartphones).&#8221; What the BB10 seeks to do is cause a <strong>paradigm shift<\/strong>. Boulben states that in this new paradigm, <strong>&#8220;multiple computing units&#8221;<\/strong> (TV, PC, tablet, etc.) will be\u00a0unnecessary; the BB10 will have enough processing power to handle all their jobs.
