International Women’s Day is Thursday, March 8. This year’s theme is “Connecting Girls, Inspiring Futures”. Earlier this week we posted about five young women from around the world and today we thought it’d be a good idea to connect you with some inspiring women from right here in Canada. We picked just five but this list could go on forever as there are so many amazing young women across this country working with World Vision to make a difference!
Salina Dharamsi (British Columbia)
“The ‘Rwandan Way’ of exhibiting compassion and warmth in their daily lives will serve as a precedent for my work…” Salina was part of the 2010 Youth Ambassador trip and continues to kick butt as an active global citizen. In 2011, Salina was invited to the United Nations where she advocated for increased youth participation in disaster risk reduction. Click here to read more about her experiences.
