00:00:00:26 - 00:00:32:09 So this video is supposed to be a guess, a reflection. We're going to be chatting a little bit about text and understand adding language writing. And I'm currently walking into an engagement that I have on the other side of this highway. So I thought I would take a few minutes and reflect a little bit about the course so far and thinking a little also about text her speech the text technology and how it works. 00:00:32:09 - 00:01:22:06 What I'm going to do is once we finished this video, I'm going to ingest it into my computer, put it on to Adobe Premiere Pro, and let it's speech to text technology, which doesn't do a great job with both the grammar, some cases the syntax of what what I'm going to be talking about along the way. But the whole idea here is that we'll look at the way that it takes my language, whether it's able to identify, you know, through my accent, because everybody has an accent, whether it's the noise in the background is I'm walking over a pedestrian overpass, over a large highway whether the mic that I'm using, this headphone is any good and 00:01:22:06 - 00:01:25:03 whether it's able to give an accurate reflection of my voice. 00:01:27:04 - 00:01:54:11 And we'll see whether or not it's able to pick it up. Typically, when I have to do this for my job, when we're captioning providing a transcript of some text. This new technology with the premier has been pretty, pretty accurate. Not perfect, though. It makes some mistakes here and there. And we'll see whether or not it's able to do a good job or not of this video. 00:01:55:26 - 00:02:25:28 And you know, reflecting on the course so far, it's been interesting to look at the at the history of text to the history of language so far in the early stages of this course. And I'm looking forward to continuing that and integrating that into some of the technologies like this one. Switch to text and see how we can put them into place within the pedagogy that we'll also be discussing as the course goes on. 00:02:26:20 - 00:02:51:09 So onto the second half of the videos are about halfway through this video. You know, I think that they're reflecting on all of these courses been interesting the way this one is set up. You know, not as much reflection or discussion thus far, but I'm really looking forward to reviewing other people's blogs and how they've approached some of these assignments as we move through this course. 00:02:51:24 - 00:03:21:00 This term, I'm taking two courses. I'm taking five 40, but I'm also taking five 11. And it's they have some similarities thus far. And it's sometimes and even the structure and in the assessment, it has some similarities. So it trying not to get confused between the two. But they there are an ex complement together this term for me as I am in my second last term in the math program. 00:03:21:18 - 00:03:58:04 So just to have got one more turn before I get to my destination. But that's the video and we'll process this shortly inside Premiere Pro and we'll see whether or not that technology and that software is able to distinguish the words. And I guess beyond that also sort of the meaning of those words because it's one thing to make that transition from from the spoken word, not obviously not with the inflection and then also into its meaning, which is if those words are incorrect, the meaning could be missed. 00:03:58:04 - 00:04:01:17 And even if they are correct, sometimes the meaning can be missed as well.
