Hi all, here is the final project I created for Geob 270. We were interested in the economic geography of cities; specifically how neoliberalism and the rise of entrepreneurial urbanism was allowing companies like Amazon and Boeing to have cities bid for their business. As during this time (November-December 2017), Amazon was in the middle of receiving and processing requests for proposal (RFP) for their second headquarter (Amazon HQ2), we thought it would be interesting to do our own ‘bid’ for Amazon’s HQ2 for Vancouver. Where would they build based on the proposal requirements? What effect would this have on the economic geography? Below is a link to the written report, a link to the flowchart we created, as well as a number of maps which formed the basis of our spatial analysis.
Hope you enjoy
