Philosophy

As teachers, we have the responsibility to ourselves as well as our students to create an inclusive and supporting classroom environment. The quality of student-teacher relationships contributes to both academic and social-emotional development. According to an article by Hamre and Pianta, the teacher SEC affects the learning outcomes of the students. In an inclusive classroom environment, I will promote both supportive and positive bonds with students. I am dedicated to making the classroom environment a safe-zone for students so that they feel accepted and a part of the classroom community. In addition, I will be providing support when the students need it, especially those who do not ask. I will allow for the students to provide anonymity when seeking support from me in order to have myself available even to those students who are afraid to ask; I will focus on building a trust bond with the students. My philosophy focuses on intrinsic motivation, supportive environment and social-emotional devlopment to create a better learning environment for my students.
