The quality of <strong>student-teacher relationships<\/strong> contributes to both <strong>academic and social-emotional development<\/strong>. According to an\u00a0article by Hamre and Pianta, the teacher SEC affects the learning outcomes of the students. In an inclusive classroom environment, I will\u00a0promote both supportive and positive bonds with students. I am dedicated to making\u00a0the classroom environment a safe-zone for students so that they feel accepted and a part of the <strong>classroom community<\/strong>. In addition, I will\u00a0be providing support when the students need it, especially those who do not ask. I will allow for the students to provide anonymity when\u00a0seeking support from me in order to have myself available even to those students who are afraid to ask; I will focus on building\u00a0a trust bond with the students. My philosophy focuses on<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/samw\/pedagogy\/\"> <strong>intrinsic motivation<\/strong><\/a>, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/samw\/pedagogy\/\">supportive environment<\/a><\/strong> and <b><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/samw\/pedagogy\/\">social-emotional devlopment<\/a><\/b>\u00a0to create a better learning environment for my students.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As teachers, we have the responsibility to ourselves as well as our students to create an inclusive and supporting classroom environment.
