BIO

I am currently pursuing Bachelor’s in Computer Science (BCS – second degree) from University of British Columbia. The fact that the BCS program AIMS to recruit 50% men and 50% women strengthened my belief that we are outgrowing these challenges and emerging as a better community.
Prior to that I completed my first degree in civil engineering from Madhav Institute of Technology and Science, Gwalior, India. My decision to do a second degree was based on the following ideology:

On one side lies fears, boundaries, and doubts. On the other side remains hopes, dreams, and desire to emerge and outgrow the adversities and challenges we face. All it takes is to keep trying by persisting and preserving. I am a resilient person who believes in the magic of initiating things. I want to explore this opportunities in the world and emerge as a successful woman. For me, there is only one way to grow by adhering to the necessary grit, diligence, motivation, and hard work needed to excel in this new venture of computer science – a true marvel.

I completed my bachelor’s in civil engineering with a score of 8.28/10 from Madhav Institute of Technology and Science, Gwalior; one of the reputed institutions in Central India. I am the first person in my family who has ever graduated with a first-class and honor’s degree. Computer science is the foremost but not the only thing that I seek from this program. To learn with and learn from this diverse community of enthusiastic and motivated learners can bring significant changes in my life.

I am still astonished by the power education beholds. It turns people’s lives around and brings revolutions in families, societies, and nations. It makes people rational, takes away poverty, keeps discrimination away, and also teaches what a person WANTS to learn. Nothing seems impossible if it is a necessity. For me, education and an inherent need to grow boundlessly has always been a necessity.
