At the beginning of the term I wrote a post on my fears of teaching. One of the biggest fears I had was not being creative or engaging enough for students. After 5 months of this education program I think I am still worried about it, but I do feel like I have a great tool kit to use, which I did not have before. I have learned a lot of little strategies to help engage students, and I have been exposed to a plethora of resources in which to consult. Generally the program has prepared me for this practicum experience but it has also overwhelmed me – so much information!!!
That being said, I am really looking forward to getting into the classroom and putting all these strategies to work. I am excited to see what “real-life teaching” will be like and the challenges and success that I have. The real education I believe starts now.
