I like teaching – love sharing my knowledge and getting kids interested in stuff. And it’s working. My students seem to be in to most of what I am teaching. And I also love the marking. I do wish I had more time to give better feedback to students – that’s such an important way to learn so this is something that I want to make sure I spend time on as a teacher in the future.  It’s all the other stuff. The lates, the absents, the no homework, the hounding for notes, the rescheduling of tests, and the excuses that I was not prepared for.  No one tells you all the other stuff that will take up so much time and crowed your lesson planning mind. The other stuff can be a real headache when you have so much other, and more important, stuff to do.   Four weeks in and I was not really prepared for this and it is overwhelming but I know there will be a rhythm I’ll get into… eventually… and it will get easier.
