My Community Field Experience (CFE) will be at the Bamfield Marine Science Centre (http://www.bamfieldmsc.com/) from April 24 – May 12, 2017. This centre is located just outside the community of Bamfield on the west coast of Vancouver Island, Canada. It is a world class, non-profit, research and education facility that boasts members from five different Western Canadian universities (UBC, UVic, SFU, UofC, UAlberta). 
I am very excited to not only learn more about west coast marine life and the communities that live there, but also about teaching in a field school setting. Informal education, in the form of non-local field schools, is something that I very much want to incorporate into my teaching practice. I hope to learn a lot about how field schools function successfully and help students learn in a fun, practical and engaging way.
