My Social Studies 11 class has officially started and its going ok – learning names is the hardest and with my old, poor fading memory it is working overtime. I had the students draw out “Google Doodles” name placards so I can remember them and I also use them as tool to do attendance for absents and lates.
This class is going to be a challenge –lots of lates and lots of people on their phones and chatting. This will be my test class on management. I need to make it my mission in this class to keep them – the whole class – interested, busy and engaged. Hopefully if they are interested in the material and I can keep them engaged then they will be more inclined to come to class on time! That’s the theory they teach is anyway.
