My name is Sarah Parry and I am in the fourth year of my Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Physics. I am originally from England but have lived in Canada for eight years. Over my four years at the University of British Columbia, I have been fortunate enough to take a variety of courses within the Physics discipline. Yet, my interests mainly lie in Computational and Medical Physics. If I were to continue pursuing Physics, I would like to take the two year Computer Science degree that is offered at UBC. Due to my enthusiasm for Computational Physics, I believe that having these two degrees would open up career paths that I would be passionate about. However, I recently completed a year of work at a retail store and am now considering returning when I graduate. They offer programs for recent graduates that teach many areas of the business. An alternate option I am considering would be to start a career in the management sector.
