The goal of my inquiry project is to develop, from the start of my teaching career, a habit of reflexive practice which centres on self-assessment. This process will hopefully foster in me more self-confidence, humility and a growth mindset. I expect these attributes will help me learn how to critically identify my ‘bumpy moments’ in teaching and evaluate them for patterns and trends that will give me a better understanding of my personal weaknesses and professional needs. These weaknesses will, in turn, prompt me to make plans and try new things in my practice. Ultimately I will use the insights gained into my teaching practice from my inquiry project to guide my professional development choices in the future.
