A bit about me

I am an arts student studying at the University of British Columbia and majoring in GRSJ (gender, race, sexuality and social justice studies). Honestly, I fell into this major. I took a year off of school to travel and work abroad in an attempt to figure out what I wanted to do with my life and with my degree. However as it came time to go back to school I found that my wanderings hadn’t brought me the huge life changing epiphany I had hoped for (shocker right?). Due to this, my lack of planning, and a tendency towards procrastination,  I was left without a set major and therefore unable to register for any courses. At the very last moment, I scrambled to choose a major (ANY major) and ended up choosing GRSJ simply because I had liked, and done well in, a GRSJ class I had taken in my second year (GRSJ 224 with Kim Snowden).  Luckily, I ended up loving everything I was learning and now would like to believe I would have ended up choosing GRSJ eventually anyway.

I have wanted to start blogging for a while but was afraid I wouldn’t have anything important to talk about or contribute. With the prompting from this class I have something interesting to discuss and hopefully (maybe) I will be able to continue to add to this blog even after the class has ended.
