I am originally from Vancouver, BC and completed my B.Ed. at the University of Victoria prior to moving to England to teach. While abroad I gained invaluable experience teaching children with various exceptionalities and learning needs. After almost a decade in England, I moved back to Canada and earned a Graduate Certificate in Educating Children with Autism from the University of Calgary. This deepened my interest in supporting children with exceptionalities and inspired me to pursue further course work in psychology and ultimately lead me to the School Psychology program at UBC. I have thoroughly enjoyed my graduate school journey and the many close friends I have made along the way. The aspect I most appreciate about the School and Applied Child Psychology program at UBC are the faculty and the established community connections with local psychologists, clinics, organizations, and school districts. These relationships and associated opportunities have undoubtedly enriched my learning and scaffolded my developing expertise. My research interests include classroom-based academic and social\/emotional interventions and the intersection of mental health and developmental disabilities specifically intellectual disability, autism, anxiety, stress and trauma. <\/p>\n
