I am originally from Erin, Ontario and I completed my Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology at Brock University. After finishing my undergraduate studies, I spent a year working as a Child and Youth Counselor for high-risk adolescents living in a residential group home. The following September I began my Master of Arts in School and Applied Psychology at UBC, where I am currently completing the first year of the doctoral program. Throughout my undergraduate and graduate degrees, I have pursued coursework, professional development opportunities, research assistantships, and clinical experiences related to child and adolescent well-being, resilience, and trauma and adversity. My master\u2019s thesis investigated the social support, hope, life satisfaction, and experiences of an understudied population of homeless youth. I intend to continue working with at-risk youth through practicum placements and my dissertation research in the doctoral program. I am particularly interested in research methods that involve at-risk youth in the design, collection, interpretation, and dissemination of research projects. Further, I am interested in developing program and service delivery models that increase accessibility for marginalized, hidden, and vulnerable populations. <\/p>\n
