Students are actively involved in developmentally sequenced practicum experiences in all programs in addition to course-based practical experiences.<\/p>\n
M.A. students<\/strong> complete an integrated practicum with advanced M.A. and Ph.D. students in Year 1 (September through June) and Year 2 (September through April).<\/p>\n Ph.D. students<\/strong> complete a school-based practicum in Year 1 (September through June). In Year 2 they complete a community placement as well as experience in supervision of Year 2 M.A. students. If students are making satisfactory progress on their dissertations and they need addition hours to be competitive for Ph.D. internship\/residency students in Year 3 may elect to do additional practicum to help develop clinical focus or specialization. They complete a 12-month (1600 hour) internship in year 4 or 5 (depending on their dissertation focus and progress).
