One Day It'll All Make Cents

Its one of the world’s truisms, Women be Shoppin well a least that’s what we all believe to be true. Thanksgiving weekend in the US is always  one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year  with Black Friday being the busiest day.  It’s the day so many look forward to in hopes of getting great deals and you best believe Women were Shoppin’ on Friday but where? See  I don’t really get it, lining up at midnight to save15 bucks on a coffee maker at Wallmart doesn’t seem like the best way to spend my time, I mean there is an easier way with online shopping.

When it comes to online shopping there does seem to be some interesting information regarding gender, while women account for the overwhelming majority of household spending overall, online the split isnt so defined.  According to this study men actually spend more per purchase online and the overall annual spend is very close, while there are a lot of different explanations offered to clarify the data it does appear that men are more comfortable with online shopping then women.  I think that you can point to the fact that many of the things that men are likely to purchase like electronics are very easy to purchase online and are larger ticket items so they increase the average spend. It does appear that retailers have some convincing to do with female shoppers to increase their online spending.  For me, I shop online because I value convenience and the last thing I want is to end up in scene like this.
