Our plan in Cambodia was to explore the south western coast (go to Krong Koh Kong, etc), then head up to Siem Reap, cross by boat to Battanbang, and then leave to Thailand. However, when we arrived in Kampot the weather was terrible; torrential rain and everything was flooded. So we abandoned our plans and headed straight to Siem Reap. We planned to stay there for only a few days, but ended up staying there for five nights because it was such a fantastic place! The boat to Battanbang wasn’t running (possibly due to the amount of rain), and so we headed to Bangkok from Siem Reap.
