We loved Can Tho. The main street along the river has lots of hotels, restaurants, a market, and a night food market. We walked from the bus station (because we were on a budget) down to the main tourist strip and it only took 15 minutes. Our favourite restaurant there was the Mekong Inn; it’s cheap ($3 for a curry) and delicious! At the night market we ate rice paper and dried beef for 50 cents each and mini pancakes for 25 cents; it can’t get much cheaper than that. In the morning we went out on a boat (which we had to ourselves for $6 each, booked through our hotel, Hotel 31B) to the Chai Rang floating market. The market was great fun, although you don’t really end up buying anything as it’s all food. The boat ride was over four hours long (starting at 5:30 am), and we visited a rice noodle factory and cruised through the small canals of the delta. Our boat driver was a lovely woman who made us all sorts of jewelry from plants (as she was driving the boat!).<\/p>\n

In the afternoon we went to Muniransuaram Pagoda, which was beautiful, and then played shuttlecock with some local kids, which was great fun!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
