Our stay in Hue was short, but it was all that was needed to see what Hue has to offer. We arrived in Hue in the early afternoon and after checking in to a hotel headed off to the Old Citadel.\u00a0Note:<\/span> At the Old Citadel you can buy a three day pass for 180,000 dong which lets you enter the citadel and two tombs. If you are going on a tour that includes visiting the tombs you should definitely<\/span> buy this pass, as it saves you almost $10!<\/p>\n

We wandered around the Old Citadel for a couple of hours and both really enjoyed it. There is a very interesting video that you can watch near the main entrance that recreates how the citadel looked in the early 1900s. We signed up for a tour and the next morning we were picked up from our hotel around 9:30 am.<\/p>\n

The tour included visiting an old Vietnamese house (adm. 20,000 dong each), Thien Mu Pagoda (which I loved), three tombs, and a boat ride back up the river to the city. We decided not to go in the third tomb since we had the pass for the other two and didn’t feel like spending more money. The two tombs we did see were absolutely stunning and very different from each other.<\/p>\n
