A few years back I remember seeing a couple of inspirational ads. And now having got a marketing blog, I thought it would be a good idea to share some of those with you guys.
It’s kind of fascinating how an often-boring, routine-like city life can be enriched by such little things. Speaking for myself, it would be very exciting to see something like that happening to the beautiful city of Vancouver. But don’t you also think so? And I would definitely start taking stairs! (Well, at least until the novelty wears off) However, aside from hypothetical talks, there’s another point I wanted to highlight here.
The whole Fun Theory project was not started just for fun. Its purpose was to introduce Volkswagen’s BlueMotion Technologies, an integral part of the company’s eco-friendly cars. The award was established to choose the best submitted project which would then be implemented. In my opinion, this is an excellent example of marketing. Drawing on the trend towards environmental sustainability the company interacted with potential customers in a very unusual manner. Such an approach, in my opinion, is tremendously effective in attracting attention! For example, seeing just one video was enough to get me interested and do the rest of the research. More than 18 million people viewed the commercial which is an outstanding number (despite the small scale of the project, which was wholly implemented in Sweden). So in conclusion, there is definitely something other companies could take into consideration when launching some of their products. Because who’d mind more creativity around?
P.S. And here is the winner of the Fun Theory award. Would you like to see something like this on the streets of your own city?
