Dogs for the Deaf

Dogs for the deaf are required to alert their user of sound. The dogs do this by running over and touching their user and leading them to the sound, for example, the phone or door or someone calling the users’ name. More importantly, the dogs are trained to alert the user to burglars, fire alarms, and crying babies (which is only helpful is the user has a baby) (Ogden 1992).
