Taming the Beast Within: True Freedom Unleashed

In me, I sense a slowing, a graceful sway,
Detachment from the worldly, day by day.
Linked to my thoughts, this newfound tranquil pace,
In quiet moments, they find their sacred space.

Thoughts, once unruly, now align in line,
No longer racing, but in rhythm, fine.
Directed, chosen, where I want them to be,
A tranquil mind, a clearer self, I see.

Yet, sensitivity lingers, still alive,
To others’ energies, as thoughts arrive.
In crowds or solitude, from near and far,
I feel their presence, like a distant star.

I don’t evade the role I must uphold,
For thoughts have stories that need to be told.
The essence of energy, profound and vast,
Reveals its nature, the dye it may cast.

With Brother Ihsan’s wisdom as my guide,
I learn to cleanse my heart when ill at side,
Witnessing life’s moments, wrong or right,
With prayers to heal, I cleanse the heart’s sight.

In positive shifts, my thoughts begin to sway,
As daily dhikr guides me on my way.
In quiet spaces, where no thoughts take space,
Desire for connection finds its proper place.

I pray for Allah’s grace, a heart that’s true,
To shield from ego’s grasp, old habits few.
As a parent, the journey’s path unfolds,
With solitude I yearn, as life’s story unfolds.

Yet, detachment grows, from daily cares I soar,
I observe with wisdom, emotions at the core.
A test of patience, rain-soaked and weary,
My response transformed, no longer dreary.

No longer ruled by ego’s cunning tricks,
Awareness blooms, the heart no longer picks,
Past pains to weave a tale of discontent,
But stays rooted in the present, calm and content.

The ego strives to taint the purest view,
With old emotions and illusions, it construes.
But in awareness, its power wanes, you see,
As I tame the beast within, I’m truly free.
