Researching: The Oil That We Eat

Hi there and welcome to my assignment 2 blog!

To create this blog I recorded my food intake for 24 hours. I was then given the task of determining where what I ate came from and how fossil fuels played into the production and delivery of these foods. This is much harder than I thought and I am still trying to get all of this information.

Who knew the contents of my refrigerator have earned enough frequent flyer points to fly any where in the world? (…okay well we all know about the 100 mile diet, this is not news to me that my food comes from all over the world…)

Anyways here is what I ate on Monday:

Breakfast:

–      Wrap: 5 raspberries, 1 banana, 1 tablespoon of almond butter, one green vegan wrap

–       Smoothie: flax seeds, almond butter, frozen berries, almond milk, spinach

Snack 1:

–       Prunes

Snack 2:

–       Rice chips

Lunch

–       4 chickpea falafel

–       1 green vegan wrap

–       1 tablespoon of hummus

–       1 handful of baby carrots

–       the rest of the rice chips

Snack 3:

–       2 pieces of rye bread

–       Honey

Snack 4:

–       Canned fish

–       Rice chips

Let’s just say my raspberries alone deserve some recognition (Check it out for yourself)
