I am such a risk averse person that I don’t dare to trade many contracts even if I am not playing with real money here. Generally, I trade 1-2 contracts per week. And seeing my positive gains, my cautiousness might not be a bad thing after all.

I learned a lot in this trading game we had. This is my first contact with commodity future market. At least, I’ve got to know where to search interesting articles and how to make price predictions accordingly. In addition, psychologically, the fear and strangeness I had in the beginning turned into fun and joy at last. To sum up, I had this sense of achievement in the trading game, even if the profits I’ve made is not real! :)) I am glad we were brought into this game :))

  1. Hey Amelia! At least you’re positive at the end of this game, so your being risk averse pays off! I had a lot of fun too, and came out of this game feeling like I’ve learned a thing or two about trading. I was really excited with the gains on my initial trades and thought that I might have some uncanny intuition about futures (that somehow I just had a knack for it, naturally :)). I was very wrong. I realized a series of losses that brought me back to earth. I hate to call trading a gamble, but I’ve learned that at some point, it really is. Perhaps with plenty of experience, one can feel like they really know the commodities in and out and can have that sort of intuition — I wish I had the money to do this for real!

  2. Great job. It is good to have positive gain at the end of this game. Based on the final account margin, being a risk averse person is a good decision. I am a risk averse person as well. I only traded 1 or 2 contracts each week. As a final result, I earn some profit from the future contracts trading. I also learn a lot from this trading game. I know how to find useful information and how to analyze that information in order to predict the commodities’ price trends. Also, I learn a lot including information and data analysis by reading your guys’ blogs. Great experience.
