{"id":165,"date":"2013-07-21T21:56:45","date_gmt":"2013-07-22T04:56:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/shisandy\/?p=165"},"modified":"2013-07-22T22:06:56","modified_gmt":"2013-07-23T05:06:56","slug":"module-14","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/shisandy\/2013\/07\/21\/module-14\/","title":{"rendered":"Module 14"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Summative Blog<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Our Inquiry Project<\/strong>: <a href=\"http:\/\/theictsubhub.weebly.com\/\">The ICT Sub Hub<\/a><br \/>\nTerrence designed our Weebly website.\u00a0 We decide to divide the website into four sections: ICT survey (Input after Visiting a School), database of responses (Information about Schools), ICT resources, and discussion forum.\u00a0 The ICT survey is subdivided into grade level groupings: elementary school (K-Gr. 5), middle school (Gr. 6-8), and high school (Gr. 9-12).\u00a0 Like the ICT survey, the databases of responses are subdivided into the same grade level groupings.\u00a0 The ICT resources contain a list of suggested ICTs to use in the classroom.\u00a0 Finally, the discussion forum provides a place for TOC to contribute ideas, connect with other TOCs, and share experiences.<\/p>\n<p>We did a few beta tests to work out the bugs (Thanks for everyone who filled out our survey!).\u00a0 It is ready to go live, but we might not release it just yet.\u00a0 Although Google Docs was able to provide the basic survey and database format we were looking for, we hope to explore other information access programs that have a filtering function.\u00a0 It would allow for greater database accessibility if TOCs were able to sort the survey responses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Final Thoughts<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.dreamstime.com\/fun-with-roller-coaster-thumb12105712.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"246\" \/><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dreamstime.com\/stock-photography-fun-roller-coaster-image12105712\">Fun With Roller Coaster by Sukmaraga<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s been a wild ride.\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t have imagined that I learned all that I did in a short span of time.\u00a0 But the most significant lesson I think I\u2019m taking away from this course is realizing the importance of a personal learning network.\u00a0 I found myself connected to a group of intelligent, insightful, and amazing collection of people.\u00a0 It was incredible experience to share my opinions, discuss my thoughts, brainstorm ideas and gain another perspective, with a wide range of teachers.\u00a0 I was filled with an immense feeling of camaraderie and fellowship.\u00a0 I hope we continue to stay connected with one another \u2013 offering support and encouragement.\u00a0 We are greater than the sum of our parts!<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m happy to have finished the course (and now have time to enjoy the rest of the summer), but I\u2019m sadden to have face the reality that this might be the last time we meet together again as a group.\u00a0 \u00a0Here\u2019s to a bittersweet end to an inspiring course.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clker.com\/cliparts\/3\/a\/9\/e\/12772274831544188568champagne_toast-md.png\" width=\"268\" height=\"300\" \/><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.clker.com\/clipart-65550.html\">Champagne Toast by Kristi<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Big thank you to Jenny and all my wonderful classmates!\u00a0 Good luck to everyone\u2019s future endeavours.\u00a0 I hope our paths will cross again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Summative Blog Our Inquiry Project: The ICT Sub Hub Terrence designed our Weebly website.\u00a0 We decide to divide the website into four sections: ICT survey (Input after Visiting a School), database of responses (Information about Schools), ICT resources, and discussion &hellip;
