My previous degree was B.A in Urban Planning where I developed interest in Landscape Architecture and I started my master degree in Landscape Architecture here two years ago. Due to the coming thesis and graduate project on my third year, I hope to grasp the abilities at writing professional research and communicating online and in person.
During these years in school, I had several internships, part-time jobs, and collaborations with developers, I often found myself not being heard as a junior employer. Although this might happen to many students, but I believe there is a way to help me find my role in collaborative practicing.
I would like to continue practicing landscape architecture after graduation and hopefully get registered as a landscape architect in the future. Most practices require team works, while practices in landscape architecture requires collaborative team works with several stakeholders, such as the developers, the government, the community committees, the contractors, the engineers, the maintenance people… Thus, effective communicating skills are major assets in the practicing of landscape architecture.
I’m currently doing a part-time job at a plant nursery and taking care of plants is my routine duty. Although plants in temperate zone look quite different from the plants at home, I believe getting to know new plants can be as fun as getting to know new people.
I believe a full understanding of communication on a professional level is extremely important for any person seeking an occupation, and I believe this course will be extremely helpful for locating your role in my career. Anyway, this is me and nice meeting you all!
