My name is Simrat Tatla, but everyone just calls me Simrat or Sim, and I am a second year Commerce student interested in specializing in Human Resources and International Business.<\/p>\n<p>During my first year here at Sauder, I was extremely disappointed that I wouldn\u2019t be able to take a marketing course until my second year. However, now the time has <em>finally<\/em> come for me to let my creative juices flow!<\/p>\n<p>About a year and a half ago, I worked as a Barista at Starbucks and one of my main responsibilities was to promote all the new drinks or pastries that Starbucks would come out with. Whenever a new promotion was about to come out, we would re-decorate the store with posters of the up-and-coming item. My favourite time was during the holidays when all the holiday drinks came out, all the cups changed and there were Christmas decorations all around the store!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_96\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-96\" style=\"width: 620px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/simrattatla\/files\/2012\/01\/Holiday101.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-96\" title=\"Starbucks Holiday Decorations\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/simrattatla\/files\/2012\/01\/Holiday101.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"380\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/simrattatla\/files\/2012\/01\/Holiday101.jpg 620w, https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/simrattatla\/files\/2012\/01\/Holiday101-300x183.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-96\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Starbucks Holiday Decorations<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>At this moment, my favourite commercial on television is the new Blackberry Bold ad where 20 or so bike riders ride around the city at night on these neon-coloured bikes. I have to admit, I am an iPhone fanatic and I would never, <em>ever <\/em>trade in my iPhone for a Blackberry, but I just couldn&#8217;t keep my eyes off this commercial!<\/p>\n<span class=\"vvqbox vvqyoutube\" style=\"width:425px;height:344px;\"><span id=\"vvq-94-youtube-1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=pX5YsU8sir4\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.youtube.com\/vi\/pX5YsU8sir4\/0.jpg\" alt=\"YouTube Preview Image\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/span>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And now, something personal about myself&#8230;.hmmm. I don&#8217;t know if this is personal or just kind of embarrasing, but I am a reality tv junkie. I just can&#8217;t get enough. One of my favourites, and pleace don&#8217;t hate me, is Keeping Up with the Kardashians. I don&#8217;t care what anyone says, it <em>is<\/em>\u00a0addicting!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi!
