The federal government control most aspect go aboriginal life, since Canada was created. The federal government controls Indian status, land, resources, wills, education, band administration and so on.   Thousands of nation children attended residential school to make them forget their culture. This thing mostly “kill the Indian in child. Hence, some  aboriginal people complain about the control of the federal government’s control. Some aboriginal communities try to get rid of the control of federal government. They  try to build their own government and manage their own affairs. In my opinion, it may be a good idea, because aboriginal government know their people more than the federal government. It can offer service what aboriginal people really want. However, they do not want to lose the protection of government, because the government can offer medical insurance, food ,tax exemption in revenue and so on to them.  Hence, the conflict come out. Aboriginal people are ambivalent about Indian act. They want to make sure their culture will not be eliminated, but they also do not want give up the federal government protection. Thus, how they should make the choice? From my perspective, they have to compare benefits with lose and figure out what is more important to them.
