GM Fails Again?
In The New York Times there has been much discussion about General Motors recalling close to 47,000 of their vehicles due to the same ignition key defect, which already made the automakers recall about 2.6 million cars that has also been liked to at least 23 deaths. The safety agency reported that if a driver of any 2011-2013 Chevrolet Caprice police vehicles and 2008-2009 Pontiac G8’s bumps the ignition key the car could possible shut off its engine, which in result would disable the power steering and breaks. However this is not the first recall, there was a second recall which involved about 10,000 vehicles including the 2004-07 Cadillac CTS-V’s as well as the 2006-07 STS-V models for a fuel leak. With GM’s bad safety publicity recently does not mean the end to General Motors. As many of you may know, GM had to quickly change their business values and plan as they were starting to go down towards customers wanting to purchase GM vehicles. However I feel that GM has generally been heading towards the right direction now with their various eco-friendly vehicles it has definitely captured a lot of attention. I feel that they have satisfied most of their customer segments and values, although this ignition key defect has raised conflict a company that ended well regardless to their struggle will be able to again.
