Insta Ad?
The discussion of technology is always out there, no matter what you are talking about. There have been many discussions in class on technology and its relation to the social media and how businesses take on this opportunity to build a better connection with its consumers. In this article, it states that Canadian advertisers use Instagram as a brand-building vehicle.
In the Canadian launch Instagram has chosen five advertisers to work with; Hudson’s Bay Co., Target Canada, Sport Check, Air Canada, and Travel Alberta. According to Instagram there are now more than 200 million Instagramers. There are many companies now that use social media to engage and attract their customer targets, by posting their products online or having ads. Facebook, one of the most well-known social media’s have been increasing their strengths on mobile ads that now generate 66% of revenue. However Instagram will present their advertisements as a regular Instagram post, except by tagging “sponsored”. Although like in the movie the ‘Social Network’
“ads aren’t cool”, however a lot of social media’s use them to generate revenue. As an active social media user, I do feel that advertisements can be annoying, but some can be interesting to hear about. I definitely feel that it is now the go to for ads or just any sort of message to be delivered, seeing now that there are always people constantly re-loading to see what the next new feed will be.
