Various conditions in Williams Lake point to the need for more accessible transportation options. The geography of the community creates a context where various smaller towns exist on the outskirts of Williams Lake, and have a growing need for flexible and safe transport options. This is especially true for young people living in and near Williams Lake. The purpose of this project then, is to create a framework for safe, accessible and reliable job shuttle program, which benefits Williams Lake both through its usability, sustainability, and capacity for community building.

Methodology: We intend to use diverse methodologies for this project, including research on similar carpooling or shuttle initiatives, focus groups, interviews, GIS and robust data collection. Once we are able to gain a better understanding of the context and how we would like to approach the project, we will be able to select and tailor which methods we shall use.

Purpose: The intention of our group in working with the Social Planning Council is not only to build off of research conducted last year, but also to work with the community to impact its residents in a direct, sustainable and … Continue reading →

["post-2","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
